Dorset Cereals launches new online Naturally Lighthearted Challenge

February is normally the most depressing month of the year.  The weather is miserable, credit card bills hit the mat, New Year’s resolutions have been abandoned and the glow of Christmas is long forgotten.  Dorset Cereals, the UK‘s fastest growing breakfast cereal company has launched a new online challenge which aims to encourage people to live a more lighthearted life in order to dispel the winter blues.

The Lighthearted challenge, which has been launched today is based around what Dorset Cereals believes is the secrets to the good life; eating well but keeping it tasty, doing some exercise but making it fit easily into your day and most important of all, being happy by enjoying the simple pleasures in life.  Participants will be set three daily ‘dorsety’ tasks for just seven days, encouraging them to enjoy life’s simple pleasures, eat well and be more active.

“In an effort to cheer up the nation we’re testing out our long held theory that if you enjoy the simple pleasures in life then you may indeed become happier, fulfilled and lighthearted.  We are really hoping that as many people take part in our online challenge as possible, and let us know the results. This isn’t about denial and rigorous regimes, just a simple approach to feeling good that we think people will enjoy,” explained Patrick Horton from Dorset Cereals.

The Dorset Cereals’ Naturally Lighthearted Seven Day Challenge is based online and participants fill in a questionnaire before and after the challenge which rates their happiness and satisfaction levels.  The daily tasks encourage people to eat well, be active and be happy and range from taking a bracing walk in your lunch break and learning to skip, to flying a kite and even adopting a donkey!

“The challenge was inspired by our Naturally Light Flakes which only have 2% fat.  They make a wonderfully tasty breakfast for people who want to eat healthily but don’t want to compromise on taste. They are packed with delicious toasted flakes and premium freeze dried fruits like figs, pomegranates and cherries. Eaten as part of the challenge these recipes may not only make you feel lighthearted but also make you a little lighter,” said Patrick Horton.

The challenge will start in February and will be running throughout 2008.

Dorset Cereals - sources only the finest quality ingredients from around the world, and is committed to making premium cereals.  Each recipe is carefully blended and balanced and packed full of crisp flakes, crunchy nuts and soft succulent fruit.  The blending process used by Dorset Cereals ensures that the ingredients remain whole, resulting in as little ‘dust’ as possible in the pack.  Only natural ingredients are used in each of the cereals, which are approved by the Vegetarian Society and kosher.  Last year saw the complete re-launch of the Company with new contemporary packaging, which reflects the uncompromising dedication the company has to making premium cereals.  Dorset Cereals’ Naturally Light Flakes are less than 2% fat and are made using a simple recipe of real flakes rolled, toasted and mixed with delicious fruits.  There are three varieties: Cranberry, Cherries & Raspberries; Figs & Grapes and Pomegranate & Cherries.
