pistachio & pumpkin seed chunky slices

NEW RECIPE

Pistachios, pumpkin & sunflower seeds blended with toasted malted spelt & oat flakes, sultanas, dates, ground hazelnuts and agave nectar.

To create our Chunky Slices we have simply taken the delicious fruit, nuts, seeds and tasty flakes that we use in our range of cereals, blended them with some finely ground hazelnuts, a bit more fruit and agave nectar, and then gently baked it all together.

Because life’s too short to settle for second best, but not so short you have to miss breakfast.

handy to know

:-) Spelt is a 7,000-year-old cousin of modern wheat with a fragile gluten structure that is more water-soluble, making it easier to digest and ideal for those wishing to eat less wheat. It’s also naturally high in fibre and contains significantly more protein, B complex vitamins and both simple and complex carbohydrates than modern wheat. Spelt became less common with the arrival of mechanical farming, because yields are lower and its harder shell makes it more difficult to work with. We reckon it’s well worth a little extra effort, though.
:-) Agave nectar is a light, natural way to hold all our delicious fruit, nuts and tasty flakes together. It is simply the pure filtered juice from the Blue Weber agave cactus that grows on hillsides in Mexico.
