The Little Book of Dorset!

‘A gem of a book for a jewel of a county’
Sarah Shalham, Travel Writer, Guardian.

Together with our friend, the author Emma Mansfield, we have written a book all about our favourite place in the whole world. We met Emma, who was the brainchild behind the overnight hit the ‘Little Book of Cornwall’ through her work with the Eden Project and were so impressed with her books that we decided to commission her to write one all about our lovely county – Dorset!

The Little Book of Dorset is now available in the shops for you to buy. Full of fun facts, witty trivia and gorgeous photographs, we hope it’ll inspire you all to share our love for our favourite county.

Last year, we spent a few months gathering your stories and facts about Dorset — so have a read to see if yours made it in!

what Dorset means to us

  • Villages, beaches, and lanes to get lost in.
  • Fields of cows and sheep, deer that pop out and then back again.
  • Woods for wandering with sweets in your pocket.
  • Breathless walks along cliff tops and long coffees in little towns.
  • Pebble beaches, fossils and sandwiches.
  • Watching the sun sink in to the sea nestled between mist covered hills.
  • Food on farm gates, in farm shops and at festivals.

what does it mean to you?

We’ll pop our favourites below on this page for everyone to see, so keep an eye out!
