Have you tasted our deliciously zesty Marmalade Granola? It’s made using the finest of marmalades from our friends Duerr’s of Manchester. We’re really excited to be working with the Fairtrade Foundation, who make sure producers and workers in the developing world get a better deal. When you spot the Fairtrade Mark on a product (like our decadent new Chocolate Granolas), it means that the farmers who supplied the ingredients have been paid a fair and stable price for their crop. For more information about Fairtrade, have a look at their website, or find our how you can get involved in Fairtrade Fortnight (22nd Feb to 7th March), here.
Rose & Grey are a small, family run business who sell gorgeous and reasonably priced home accessories. Everything on their site has been chosen with love and care and though there are lots of different styles there they all go together beautifully.
We all love giving and receiving gorgeous presents, but finding them can be a real challenge.
Handpickedcollection.com, the online gift site and magazine style catalogue have unusual gift ideas for every person you know – from tiny toddlers to tricky teens and got-it-all grandparents. We love to hear about people taking on new challenges, and this is the most exciting one we’d heard about for a little while. The Munro’s Mariners team is based in Dorset and they’re about to embark on a recreation of the ‘Cockleshell Heroes’ journey up the Gironde in France.
The intrepid team are due to leave for their kayaking expedition on 27th November 2009 and they’re working extremely hard to make sure they’re ready for the challenge. The plan is to kayak 70 miles up the Gironde and Garonne rivers to Bordeaux – retracing the route taken by Operation Frankton during the Second World War.
Fudges are a 3 generation family run business, established in 1926. They bake everything from tasty Cheese Straws to delightful Florentines.
They use the finest ingredients, baking everything with passion in the heart of rural Dorset, but don’t worry if you live further a field, their tasty treats are available worldwide.

Screen Bites, Dorset’s Food Film Festival is all about promoting local food and healthy eating, and they originally set up the Edible Playgrounds initiative. They are so passionate about local producers that they held an event ‘Bite the Lighthouse’. They hosted the event on October 25th 2009 in association with Olives Et Al (another one of our friends) and working with the Lighthouse Art Centre in Poole, Dorset. The aim was to celebrate Dorset’s culture, creativity and most of all its local produce.
