18th July 2017 - dorset state of mind

We all have our special places; the weekend havens we dream of when we’re commuting to work instead. Although that place could be anywhere we call it a ‘Dorset state of mind’.
You’ve been sharing your #dorsetstateofmind photos with us – so here’s another gallery…

Dorset adventures

Craig – aka Adventuredools – has an Instagram account full of idyllic-looking adventures, including plenty in Dorset.  We love this shot of rock-scrambling along Durdle Door…

Here’s a bit of solo wild camping at Winspit:

And he found some strange clouds at Sandbanks, Poole:

Sandbanks

Given that it’s the most expensive UK seaside town in which to buy a property, most of us really can only dream of living in Sandbanks. But anyone can visit, anyone can dream – and the views are free.

Here’s a lovely shot by Katie on Instagram  – as she says, it’s a view that never gets old.

…and Dan Davies on Facebook likes Sandbanks too…

Corfe Castle

Corfe Castle is a real Dorset landmark – and it features in many people’s ideal visions of the county. Here’s a fabulous Insta shot by Alexandra Paret:

…and the local train station is almost as beautiful. Like stepping onto a model railway, as the brilliant Instagrammer Kym Grimshaw notes…

Beyond Dorset

But as we say, as ‘Dorset State of Mind’ can be found anywhere. So here are some gorgeous places shared by our Facebook friends beyond Dorset.

This is Kynance Cove, shared on Facebook by Kerry Weston. Ok we admit that Cornwall has one of two rather spectacular bits of coastline!

Here’s a stunning shot of Llanddwyn island in Wales shared on Facebook by Alex Cook:

And finally, this is Facebooker Heidi Elizabeth’s dream view: it’s the island of Kefalonia. Not bad we suppose…

If you have a photo of your favourite place in the world we’d love you to share it with us. Post it to our Facebook page, tag us on Twitter or Instagram, or use the hashtag #DorsetStateOfMind.

From time to time we’ll even be dishing out some cases of lovely cereal to our favourite photos, so get sharing!
